Do you believe in a deity (or deities)?  If the answer isn't "yes" then you're an atheist.
What is the doctrine that atheists follow?

There is no such thing as "atheist doctrine" -- it doesn't exist.  This is because the definition of "atheism" is simply the "absence of belief in deities."  It's not a belief, it's not a faith, it's not an emotion, and it's not a position -- it's merely an impartial classification.

The reason "atheist doctrine" is an oxymoron

Since atheism is, fundamentally, merely the classification of "absence of belief in deities," any additional beliefs (aside from a belief in deities) that an atheist may [optionally] have are incidental, hence it's not logically possible, by definition, for there to be any such thing as "atheist doctrine."  (Note that "doctrine" is "a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church, political party, or other group.")
